The cricket world is evolving at a rapid rate. New leagues and new formats are emerging with every passing season. While the hard ball cricket is considered to be the prime version, the tennis ball cricket is quite popular too. And now, veteran Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif is set to play in a tennis ball tournament too. This certainly comes as a big news considering the fact that an international cricketer will be playing with the tennis ball.
Mohammad Asif will be participating in the second edition of the tournament named as 10PL. The tournament, which is played using a tennis ball, will be played in Dubai in the month of March. The tournament is set to be played from March 19 to March 23. As per the reports in bdcrictime, Mohammad Asif has confirmed his participation in the tournament. Asif will be playing for the team named Shehenshah Warriors.
“I have played this form of cricket a lot on the streets of Pakistan. Almost all of us have learnt a lot by playing this brand of cricket. I am hoping to pass on my experience to the rest of the squad and along the way, gain a lot myself. I cannot wait to get back on the field at the Sharjah stadium,” Mohammad Asif quoted.
Other international cricketers in the frame too
Talking about the tournament, as many as 16 teams will be participating in the tournament this year. Other international cricketers like Sri Lanka’s Thilan Thushara and Chamara Silva are also likely to play in the tournament. The tournament is certainly not a small deal as it has a big prize money. The tournament is valued at a total of 250,000 Dirhams.
